We anticipate the largest demand ever this holiday season.  As you know, the rising cost of gas, groceries and rent does not go away.  Families with children must now provide a magical holiday experience, in addition the challenge of meeting their regular expenses.

Hunger is synonymous with poverty.  Food is the most basic of human needs.  To be abouve the poverty lin in Fairfax County, the average family (two adults and two children) needs an income five times the minimum wage.  Hunger is a slow dispair.  Mothers are left helpless, unable to feed their children.  It is a quiet tragedy, but one that can be tackled with strong, inventive leadership from government and the continued support of the public.

Together, Food for Others and doners like you make it possible for struggling families to not only survive but to thrive.
